Co-owners Jeff Noye and Damien Enman own Valley Pearl Oysters, a processing facility and oyster bar in Tyne Valley, PEI. The community has a rich history of oyster fishing and processing.
These Valley Pearl oysters are wild harvested in Tyne Valley. One of Canada’s biggest oyster producers, PEI is one of the few places to have a wild oyster harvest. In fact, only 3% of the world’s oysters are wild with a whopping 97% farmed.
Oysters are available year round, but certain times of year, like Fall, are better for eating, as the oysters, feeding a lot in preparation for hibernation, are plump and delicious.
