Season:

Their 2020 Annual Sea Buckthorn Harvest will begin on Saturday August 15th 2020 and run daily until Monday August 31st 2020. They are open daily from 9-5.

Growing Practices:

The Healing Arc’s Sea Buckthorn berries are grown in accordance with organic principles. Sea Buckthorn is a value chain plant and requires NO herbicides, fertilizers or pesticides.

About:

Seabuckthorn is probably not one of the crops you envision growing in Ontario, but the plant is surprisingly hardy – it can survive temperatures ranging from -40 to + 40.

Marlene and Rodger dedicate 10 acres to growing two varieties of Seabuckthorn, Huron Sunset and Citrus Gold. They have seen great success with growing Seabuckthorn in Ontario, and have partnered with University of Guelph to establish best growing practices for Ontario climates.

Marlene and Rodger also have helped about twenty other farms who want to expand their operations to grow seabuckthorn!
